John's Story
After graduating from Purdue in 1973, I moved west to Colorado and never left. I started in Estes Park, then Boulder, then Greeley, then Pueblo for 30 years, now in Denver for the past 10 years. I retired from CSU-Pueblo in 2011 after teaching CIS for 28 years. I flunked retirement and worked 7 more years. I am now taking a 9-month break but will probably go back to work one more time. l spend a lot of time in the Wilderness. I spent the last 5 summers hiking 750 miles along the Continental Divide trail through Colorado. My wife Sharon has done a lot of outdoor stuff with me throughout the years. We still spend 7-8 weeks every summer traveling, living in a tent, hiking, and padding our double sea kayak in the NW.
Sharon and I have one daughter (Tiffany) and one granddaughter (Sasha). Sasha is a senior and will be going off to college next year. Time flys.
