John's Story
Married now divorced. Two daughters, Becky who lives in Pennsylvania and Kate in San Diego..
Retired, quit or made redundant, I'm not sure.
Moved around a lot after graduation from URI in 1964 and earned an MS from USC. Lived and worked in Rhode Island, Hawaii, New Jersey, Mexico, Japan, Alabama, Virginia, California and Saudi Arabia. Retired and now living in Ruswarp, North Yorkshire, UK. My family suggests that I have my passports engraved in my hand.
I lived for 21 years in San Diego and I ran away from my home in 2005 to travel. I went first to Ireland to pick up Irish citizenship; if hijacked it's better to be Irish than US.
My travel account includes 35 countries and 46 of the 50 states....Expand for more
I've discovered home/pet sitting and this has led me to Vienna and New Zealand.
My current interests are traveling as noted above, archaeology and history. That's a far cry from my working career where a physicist or engineer I was part of the Cold War thing.
My flat is in 260-year-old converted old mill. My village of 400 mostly old people like me which is only 8 minutes by bus to a town of 13000 for shopping. My village only has a small grocery store. the usual pub and a butcher's shop. It's a place I always dreamed of and is a grand home base for my travels. I'm happier than I've ever been in my life.
