John's Story
While I’d love to say my time at Norwin was the “best years of my life,” they weren’t. In fact, they were traumatizing, and ultimately lead to me dropping out in 1997 (I was held back a year, so I would’ve graduated in 1998.) Now, to be fair, a lot of my treatment was deserved – I was a real jagoff back then – however, it has taken nearly 20 years for me to come to terms with what happened. To this day, I still break out in a cold sweat when I see or hear the word “quagmire.” After dropping out, I got my GED, and went to college, earning a degree in graphic design.

pent five years in Johnstown, creating eLearning for the Department of Defense. In 2012, I got divorced, took a gamble, and moved to the Washington DC metro area to work for the FAA, and then HUD. As of 2017, I still work in Washington as a training developer for the Department of Justice. I am engaged to a wonderful woman who works for the NIH, and I have an awesome ten-year old son, from my previous marriage, who fills my life with so much meaning and joy.
I’m interested in connecting with former classmates, in some cases to bury the hatchet, and in others, to make amends. Ultimately, I want to see how much we have all changed from our school days.
