John's Story
Hi:
I've lived a very blessed life. After owning 9 commercial radio stations in several states and 38 years in the radio broadcasting business, I sold my last station and retired in April 2007 at age 53.
My wife and I live in a large 1865 Victorian home outside of Erie, PA and we own vacation homes at Chautauqua Lake, NY (western NY), Wells, Maine and Crystal River, FL. We just bought a lot at Cedars Airfield right outside of Cedar Key, Florida and we are building another vacation home with an adjacent airplane hangar. Our lot fronts the paved 2500 foot runway. It's always been my dream to be able to walk out the garage, into the hangar and fly off someplace.
I spend most of my time traveling and cutting all the grass! My wife has a Masters in Nursing and she runs a department at an area hospital. She plans to retire in the next 5 years and then we will ...Expand for more
most likely relocate to Florida on a more permanent basis, but spend our summers at Chautauqua Lake and Maine.
I have a great marriage; my better half "allows" me to go down to Florida for a few weeks in each winter month. We love the laid-back Florida lifestyle. Crystal River is a neat small town about an hour north of Tampa on the Gulf coast. Cedar Key is another 40 minutes north of Crystal River.
I have too many interests to mention here. I am a licensed Private pilot (since 1979) , rated for: Airplane single engine - both Land and Sea, Multi-Engine Land and an Airplane Insurument Rating. I own a Piper Cherokee 140 and like to fly for the pure joy of it.
I just got my motorcycle license last year (now going through my second childhood it seems) and own a few bikes. Life has been very good...you could
say it's a real life version of Revenge of the nerds!
