John's Story

Life mar. Lila St. Gemme, a fellow northeaster, in 1950. Worked for the K.C. School Dist. till Apr. 1951. After service in Army, spent 12 yrs. with IBM. Owing to our insurance backgrounds & training, we bought insurance agency which Lila ran while I had my auditing business & genealogy research busines. Lila's ancestor's were the original owners of the famous Mine LaMotte lead mine in Madison Co., Mo. Our ancestors both came from France, mine from Rabodanges and hers from Ige. Her ancestor, Pierre Boucher, Gov. of Trois Rivieres Canada, was enobled, together with all his descendants forever, by King Louis XIV. We s...Expand for more
pent 35 yrs. in D.C. area where my Uncle, Usher Burdick, and his son, Quentin, were U.S. Senators from N.D. They assisted me in acquiring books from Library of Congress for my research projects. We just recently divested our insurance agency and are now retired After traveling throughout Europe, meeting the Pope, Gina Lolabrigida, and Eliz. Taylor, tis time to settle down. We limit ourselves to visiting Capitol Hill once or twice a year as so many of our friends work in various govt. agencies, particularly in Library of Congress. "Classmates has lost Lila's data.
