Hey Now! (old friends, remember the time...)
I'm John Burke, EMHS '67. I attended St. Leo College, St. Leo, Fla '67 - '68. I transferred to and am a graduate of UH (Hawaii '74), BFA (Fine Arts). I studied Art Therapy and Art Ed. in grad school, (Hofstra University, LI, NY - never completed). I helped start a solar community, (in Maine), and an alternative energy educational corp. in 1979, after 3 mile island. working with a Maine solar group now, (in NY), starting a Solar (photovoltaic-PV) manufacturing business ("cottage industry"), creating jobs for unskilled workers. The group I work with has started similar projects in many parts of the world, (central & S. America, Haiti, Africa, India), as well as in Maine and other US locations. I'm living on LI with my 18 yr. old son who is attending HS. I hope to start a solar group with interested folks on LI or other location where there are like minded individuals!
