John's Story
Life
I have been in Nevada sense 1995. I have never been married (yet) but still hold out some hope someone will come along. No kids that I know of. I have not heard from anyone from High School in years. I am still active in sports and riding my Harley. I retired from the State of NV. in 2011 and now medically retired (back injury) from the Veterans Affairs Police in Reno NV its all good. I would love to hear from anyone out there that remembers me. If your ever in Reno let me know..
School
If I can remember that far back I would like to apologize to the teachers I had for being the pain in the butt that I was. Sorry I got bored easy.
College
I went the Kings River Comm. College and received a A.S. Degree in Aviation. Then a year later found out I am allergic to the grease and oils used on Helicopters. I then put myself through the Fresno City College Basic Police Academy, The State of NV Corrections Academy and the Veterans Affairs Police Academy. I have take a few classes here in NV. relating to Mental Health to improve my knowledge in the field.
Workplace
Work I don't think I have never not had a job of some sort. I started at 13 checking sprin...Expand for more
kler lines on the Carthel Thomas ranch before starting High School and worked every summer sense. I went into the Army after High School then went back to work on the farm after getting out. I have worked in parts houses, book stores, mini-marts, was a Cop for a little while then in 95 I got fed up with Calif and packed up and moved to Lovelock NV. where they had just opened a new Prison. I worked there 4 1/2 years before getting promoted and moving to Reno in 2000. I was a Sgt. at the states only Max. Security Mental Health Facility. It's nice they even let me go home at the end of my day. ( I wonder sometimes ) The job had it's moments but was very rewarding, the pay and beni's were not to bad either. I retired from the State in 2011 and went to work for the Veterans Affairs Police in 2011. It was a fun and interesting job but a line of duty back injury caused me to medically retire June 2016.
Military
I went in straight after High School and spent 3 years in Ft. Lewis WA. I was supposed to be going in on the buddy plan but he chickened out. I learned a lot and grew as a person, sometimes I regret not staying in. But 3 years was enough at the time.
