John's Story

Life After attending Valley College, I moved to Japan and have been living there since 1975. I've built up an English teaching business, as well as a quite sizeable internet marketing business. However, after 31 years here, I've decided to make a move back to the L.A. area, arriving August 18th. My Japanese wife and I will be separating, with her staying in Osaka, and my son will be moving to the Vancouver area to attend Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design. over at 53. My Japanese is pretty fluent, so I hope to get into the travel or hotel business, or continue teaching English to foreigners when I get back to L.A. Spring 2007 update: Still looking for regular work. It's a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. After 31 years outside, L.A. is really a mixed bag (a lot to love, but a lot to hate as well). Compared to Japan, it's like coming back to the Wild West. Anyone traveling to Japan and needing information, please let me know your questions. Check out a few of my favorite Kyoto pictures in the "My Photos" area. Hope to see you at one of the reunions someday (anyone know when the next one is?).
