John's Story

Hi Y'all. After long last I've finally gotten around to write "The BIO". What have I done for the last 40 years??? Well... After graduation I attended a computer programming tech school in San Diego. After 8 months of looking to enter the Computer field, Uncle Sam came knocking, (to be drafted), so I joined the Air Force. Before I knew it 22 years had pasted and I had been in Sacramento, Vietnam, Sacramento, Colorado, England, Texas, Germany twice, and back in Texas. Dumb luck landed me in Oak Ridge Tennessee providing Heath and Safety support for the cleanup of the Manhatten Project facilities that made the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs. Throughout this whole time I am blessed to have married Kenna (Diekmann) (1973) and produ...Expand for more
ced a wonderful daughter, Mariah (1975). I now have two grandsons, 10 and 12, who live just 15 miles away. Just imagine, me a grandpa. Scary! I have three dogs, one cat, a large garden that feeds us and I build bird houses for fun. Recently I've gotten into woodturning. Before that blacksmithing was the craft of passion. Kenna has been at my side throughout thick and thin while raising Mariah and now helping with the boys. She has become a master with sewing and is now a costumer and has done work for the TV (Cristy) series and several local theaters here in Tennessee. Well, that's the Readers Digest version and hopefully there's more to follow at the reunion in July. Hope to see you there. Love and Kisses. John and Kenna
