John's Story
John is from St. James, Missouri. He now lives 6 miles south of Rolla. Been married sinreece March 30, 1975. Three daughter, five grandsons, and one grandaughter. John's schools include John F. Hodge High School. John later attended University of Missouri-Rolla Was drafted and spend 2 years, 9 months and 5 days in the U.S. Army. Spent 16 of those months in Vietnam as an Artillery Surveyor in the 25th Infantry Division. Graduated from UMR with a degree in Geological Engineering in 1977. for St. Joe Lead Company down in Viburnum. He then became the Environmental Engineer/Environmental Engineer for St. Joe/Doe Run. Spent the last 20 years of his time there cleaning up old mining operations that were listed as Superfund Sites. Retired from Doe Run the end of 2011. Started to work for Geoengineers March 2017 as the Project Manager supervising the cleanup of old mining operations that were listed as Superfund Sites down in the Joplin, MO area. Left that job May 2017 and now spends his time working around their place south of Rolla.
