John's Story

Life Hi Folks! In elementary and Jr. high school, you knew me with the last name of Deisler. That was a name I used since my mom was married to my stepdad at the time. I started using my birth name in the 10th grade as I was never officially adopted. Well, since graduating from high school, life has really been quite the adventure! Like most of us I'm sure, I've got to visit around the country some. For employment, I have done many things from cooking in a restaurant, to working in a sawmill, to being a maintenance and transportation supervisor for a school district, to commercial refrigeration, and other things as well! Now, I deliver lumber to construction sights. There is so much to tell! I cannot get it all on one writing, so I hope to hear from you. Perhaps the biggest and best thing is that I am a Bible believing Christian, as a direct result of that, I play a guitar and get to lead worship services for a local church. I get to sing and no one throws tomatoes at me! (yet!) If you are reading this, I would like to encourage you to reconsider the things of God. Believe in Him and accept His Son Jesus Christ as your Lord. He will forgive your past and you can start a new life! Not funky weird stuff, but a genuine renewal of your life! If you knew me as a youngster, you wouldn't believe the change! I've been through much and God has brought me through it all. No self righteous trips, no ooky spooky stuff, no personality without a backbone either, just genuine Christianity. Don't be afraid to ask me about it all sometime, you will find me easy to get along with, even if you have a different point of view. More adventures or misadventures I have got to do are things like swimming in the ocean (and getting tagged by jellyfish!), backpack and explore in the hot and remote Arizona wilderness areas and the Grand Canyon, see skies so clear at night that it looks like a picture show (and see real "midnight blue"), and other things. I really like people, so even if you don't remember me, or know me, or just curious, write. I will answer back! I will visit my profile and update it or change it from time to time. I may add some things that I have forgotten (memory challenged at times, you know!) Ha, ha! May the Lord shine on you and hope to hear from you sometime. School School! Whew! In all honesty I am glad I don't ha...Expand for more
ve to do that again! Not that school was so hard, but as with all of us, sometimes the social dynamics were pretty tough. Much of my trouble I brought on myself. But I learned from those things and got a chance to change in a postive direction! School itself actually was a good experience. I learned a lot more than probably my teachers thought I would! I wasn't an "A" student by any means, but most of the education that was taught to me I retained fairly well. If any of you were with me during those tumultuous years, thanks for your patience. It paid off! Workplace Wow! What an adventure in life! Getting out into the world as a green horn and having attitudes (both good and the other kind), and sometimes just being ornery, and growing into the person I have become has been an experience really I hope someday I can write about! There are times I wished I was at the same job for 30 years and have some security in retirement. But after watching various things in the economy fall flat on it's face, I am all too happy to be a "jack of many trades" as it were. I can go anywhere and get employment if I need to do so as I have many different experiences. That has kept food on the table a few times. You must understand though that I respect the folks who are able to stay in one spot for so long. Don't become jaded! When you get to retirement age, come out and play! By the way, if you see time gaps in between my employment listings, it is because I went back to work at one of the companies already listed if I got laid off or stopped working for other reasons. Military I actually do not have a military experience. What happened is that I never knew my real dad until I was in the tenth grade. He retired twenty years in the Air Force and having served tours in Germany, Thailand and Viet Nam. He actually talked me out of joining the Marines when my time was about to arrive. Instead, he made a military experience for me by marching my skinny body around the Arizona wilderness areas for about four years doing things like prospecting, searching for downed aircraft, and map making (none of which I remember how to do!) To those of you reading this though, you must understand that I am a military supporter. It is biblical to have a military and to have a working government. In the bible, read the book of Romans and First Corinthians.
