John's Story
For whats its worth. After The Abbey, I spent the next six years in total drunkenness and debauchery, at New Mexico State University. I eventually got my Bachelor of Science in Biology, got married and got a commission (Medical Service Corps) in the US Army. I then moved to Mazatlan, Mexico to await my reporting date 11 months later to Ft. Carson, CO. From there I went to Germany for three years, traveled all over Europe and earned my Masters degree in Business. I then came back to the states to be a Professor of Military Science at the University of Pennsylvania (Ivy League) in Philadelphia. My son John as born there. From there I went to Natick, MA (outside Boston). I was the Comptroller for US Army Research Institute for Environmental Medicine and I got divorced there. It was very amicable and we are still friends to this day. From there I went to Ft. Devens, MA., to be the Chief of the Medical Assistance Team for the Readiness Group. My team supported all the Reserve and National Guard medical units in the New England area. My team was responsible for preparing all the medical units that were eventually deployed to Desert Storm. Oh, and I got married for a second time there to "Satan's Twin Sister", an Air Force Officer. Federal Building, downtown. My daughter Aindrea was born there. After that, my finale tour of duty was at The Military Records Center, (Medical Claims Division), across town. I retired there and followed "Sister Satan" to Alaska. I found Christ immediately upon my arrival and got divorced. I then got sole legal custody of my daughter and settled into the role of being a full time retired single dad, for the next ten years. We then spent all our free time camping, hunting and fishing. My son moved to AK, to finish his last two years of high school. He was too much of a chore for his mom to raise by her self, plus he needed my special kind of ex-military guidance, to help him focus. Now, he is a heavy equipment operator for the Alaska Railroad, and he lives next door to me. We each have a log cabin on 5 acres, abutting the Chugach State Park. My daughter is currently in nursing school and Air Force ROTC at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. Now that I'm getting long of tooth and am over weight, I don't hunt much any more. I however still go fishing in the Gulf of Alaska for about a month every August. If any of you losers are ever up this way, you are welcome to visit for a while and drink scotch with me, on my porch. I hope you all have had as great a life as I have had, and I hope to hear your story some day.
