John's Story
Recently I've been going through piles of old letters, papers, clippings, etc. It has been fun to read old copies of Aquila and to look at images in old yearbooks on this site as well as the one hard copy I have from senior year. I have been delighted by how many wonderful memories I have of our Sandburg years. What a great bunch of fun and very talented classmates. Also, I think we were lucky to have such high caliber teachers and advanced facilities. A wonderful time in my life to be sure.
I write this from Southern Vermont where I've lived out in the country on a dead end road for the past six years. I live in the midst of abundant natural beauty and get to watch sparkling stars on clear nights as I doze off to dreamland.

ty years in Cambridge MA and most of the rest of my adult life in Massachusetts. I worked as a therapist for 29 years and retired at age 53. The best decision I've ever made! I enjoyed my work but it was exhausting. I didn't retire. I just got tired.
In an effort to get acquainted with a new camera today (1-2-2020) I took a headshot which I've posted here. A quad bypass notwithstanding, I'm not overly beat up or broken down and enjoy my country life. Over the years I've known a great many wonderful people and have had plenty of adventures to look back upon. I think we were very lucky to be born when we were when opportunities abounded and the world was blossoming. Another few years and maybe I will be able to have an AI-enhanced robot stack my firewood for me!
