John's Story
First of all, I want to thank those of you who have signed my guest book. I don't know who you are because I'm cheap and not paying for this site. Anyone who wants to contact me can do so. I'd love to hear from you. Now for my story...
Well, I could write for hours about what I've been up to... but I don't want to bore anyone with so many details. Let me give you the short version.
I'm a young and mostly fit 53 years old now. I have 25 years of computer experience under my belt and love working/playing with computers. However, the best job that I've had since leaving high school was working as a computer game designer.
I've been responsible for several high quality games out there. Some of them are even famous. Balder's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, Planescape: Torment, and even the Fallout series. I've spent 15 years of my life doing this and it's been both a blessing and a curse.
At this point I hold down a normal job as a records clerk for a government contractor. The pay and benefits are terrible, but t...Expand for more
he hours are normal (no more 60 hour workweeks in the gaming industry). I miss game design and still do it as a hobby, but I can't compete with the young and stupid who want to work the 60 hour workweeks. Oh well.
I've been divorced now for... I don't remember how may years. I'd still like to find that 'special' someone, but then wouldn't we all? Anyway, they say there is someone out there for everyone so I'm hanging in there.
Let's see... I love sci-fi/fantasy movies... I love to read sci-fi/fantasy books... And I play sci-fi/fantasy computer games (no, I'm not stuck in a rut... much). I try to stay fit by walking a lot. I like swimming and bicycle riding but don't do much of it any longer. That's about it for me.
Oh, and I'm sorry to say it but I don't remember many of you! I still remember Evelina K. (she's the one that got away), Tom P. and Daryl C. (my two hell raising buddies in school), and that's about it. I was never Mr. Popular since I was a science geek and not a Jock.
That's it, thanks for reading.
