John's Story
I was to graduate in 1974 from Harker Prep (long story), I did graduate from Walt Whitman High my senior year. Continued to piss the parents off and left home. I went to MCC college to persue a career in Media. That didn't work out. Was a partner in a Carpet Cleaning business with a freind and that folded. Have been married for 28 years to my wife Lynette (can you believe it?). I met my wife in Baltimore in 1978 while dancing the Disco clubs, yes I did say Disco.
Moved to Norfolk Va in 1984 with a Port Operations Company.
While trying to have kids we found that we couldn't, so we enrolled in an In-Vitro Clinic (Jones Institute) in Norfolk. Tried to have kids for 8 more years and finaly were blessed with twins in 1990, (boy & girl) Kyle and Samantha.
After numerous jobs in the Automotive field, I was hired to work as a Warranty Administrator for a Va. Beach RV dealership, and loved it.
Just recently I changed jobs. I am now a Vehicle Damage Inspector. The firm (AiM) does off lease inspections for various manufacturers (Nissan, Ford, GMAC, Chrysler, just to name a few). I also do damage surveys for Vehicle Imports as they are off loaded from the vessels at the Va. Ports. This has to be the best job ever. It's extremely challenging. It's great to love to go to work each day.

kids graduated in 2008. Both kids are exceptional community leaders and extremely bright.
My son attends Va. Wesleyan College in Norfolk Va. (after graduating 3rd in his class at High School)
My daughter takes after me....all play and in no hurry to decide what she wants to be when she grows up. She works in the Outer Banks NC.
We are so proud of both of them. Boy did they grow up fast.
My younger sister passed away recently from Leukemia complications. We are fortunate to have been awarded full custody of her 17 year old daughter. She now attends Radford U. We are blessed to have her with us and hope she will do as well as her cousins. She is strong and knows what she needs to do.
I have two passions:
#1: My family
#2: Bass fishing.
I even bought a house on a private lake. My passion for bass fishing is such a big part of my sanity. Fishing at home in the backyard instead of being gone all weekends fishing tournaments is great. Besides I have yet to be a money winner.
Not that I could have it any better but, we live 20 minutes from the towel on the beach at nearby Va. Beach.
Life is good, I try not to criticize, condemn or complain and live by the golden rule. "Treat others as I want to be treated".
I'll probably work till I'm 90, but if I could retire... I'd be fishing!
