John's Story
I became a Police Officer in 1988 working for the Delaware County Park and Court House Police Dept. In 1990 I became and Investigator for the Delawre County Domestic Relations enforcement unit. In 1994 I was injured while on duty crushing the nerve bundle in my left shoulder and neck. I suffered from severe migraines and pain running down my arm and experienced blacks for over a year. I was married to my soul mate in April 1996, We honeymooned at Sandals in Saint Lucia, I have had 8 operations on my left knee over a span of 10yrs, In 2011 while driving home and only 2 blocks from my home I blacked out and ended up hitting a tree at 60mph, I spent over a month in the hospital, I was severely injured and am now in a wheel chair, Some of the injuries I sustained ...Expand for more
were first and foremost my left leg and hip were sheered off at my hip, The doctors had to completely drill out the entire femur and hammered a rod through the bone down to my knee and the went through my back and put two rods in to hold my fractured pelvis in place, I also broke my right ankle, 5 ribs and shattered my right wrist which the surgeon said it was like putting broken toothpicks back together so I have wires and screws holding my wrist together, I became severely depressed after the accident and as of today April 24th 2015 I am still fighting the depression but am slowly coming out of it, I moved to a suburb of Charlotte NC in 1999. My wife and I are looking forward to our 20th anniversary in April of 2016, RIP Danny McCray you are missed my friend,
