John's Story
A lot has changed since Elementary and High School for all of us. I have some Grey hair already. That must mean (ugh!) I'm getting "old". Wow, that happened fast!
I've been employed as a Systems Engineer (and for a few years had also an Photographic Optical Technician) for the past 21 years (2007) at a distributor of photographic equipment. I designed, built and manage their computer system, network and phone system. It's more like play-for-pay than work. I can honestly say I haven't "worked" for the past 21 years. I'm still a total geek, of course. I'm an Amateur Radio Operator (Amateur Extra class licensee). I volunteer for Civil Air Patrol as a Net Control Station for their SoCal communications system and am a Mission Radio Operator. I also do Search and Rescue work for them using Radio Direction Finding equipment, looking for Emergency Locator Transmitters. I own and operate an Amateur Radio repeater system, as well.
In my spare time I like to head down the highway on my Suzuki VX800 motorcycle and see the sights.
