John's Story

Life Went to West Point and was commissioned an infantry officer in 1994. Married Heidi Miller of Waukesha the next summer, and we had our first and only child, Connor, in 1998. I went to grad school at UNC-Chapel Hill, where I earned a PhD in h...Expand for more
istory. I turned my dissertation into a book, Uncommon Defense, which Harvard will publish in SEP 2009. I will leave the Army this summer to take a tenure-track job at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My family loves the outdoors and hockey.
