John is from New Market, Maryland. John is married to Rosemary Lewis. John's schools include Hammondsport NY and Geneva NY High Schools. He later attended Syracuse University (Aerospace Engineering). He retired from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, Maryland in 2010. One of John's favorite quotes is:"Space flight isn’t a country endeavor, it’s a species ...Expand for more
endeavor. Politicians and diapers need to be changed often, and for the same reason. Sometimes you bite the bear, sometimes the bear bites you.
