John's Story
While living in Augsburg Germany I transfered to MAHS after two years attending all boys technical high schools. When I got to MAHS I was pretty much a loner having little interest in academic work. In addition being part Native American I felt rather out of place. I probably had more fights per semester than any other student. Finally after graduating I entered the Army because my father was an Army officer. The Army and I didn't see eye to eye on much of anything. ducation,so I left the Army and went into the Air Force from which I finally retired in 1972. However, as it turned out during my militay career I continued my academic life as a nontraditional student; seven elementary schools, three high schools, several universities. I earned a BA at the U. of Tampa, FL. 2 MAs at U. of Hawaii, 1 MA and a PhD at Kennedy Western U. Following all this I taught English as a Second Language at Hankuk U, Seoul, Korea and Hawaii Pacific U. in Honolulu befor finally fully retiring in 2002.
