John's Story
After graduation I went to the University of New Brunswick and graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1977. I went to work with Ontario Hydro in Kingston, Ontario and after a few moves ended up in Atikokan, Ontario where I met Debbie and her 5 kids to whom I have been happily married to for 24 years. Ontario Hydro gave me a sh*t pile of money to leave in 1994 so I took a year and travelled with Deb, kids and trailer across Canada and down to California. Then back to Winnipeg where I looked for work. me self employed as a Mechanical Consultant and taxi driver for 2 years. I then went to work as a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a consulting firm for 6 years. Now I'm retired in rural Manitoba with 5 grandkids and 2 on the way. Hobbies include woodworking, distilling, gardening, electronics, knitting, sewing, meteorology, appliance repair, clock repair, gardening, computer programming and upgrading. All of which I am ham-fisted and incompetent at while enjoying myself immensely. I've driven motorcycles over most of North America and worked in South America on a project for Ontario Hydro. I have a clean criminal record, who would've guessed?
