John's Story
After graduating from SUNY Oneonta in 1967, I took a job as an English teacher at Cobleskill High School. I stayed there for 34 years, retiring in 2001.
During those 34 years, I married, had two kids, divorced, remarried and became a dad again at age 48.
I spent 24 summers working in a NYS day-use park.

My only grandchild is six months old.
My wife of 27 years is a math teacher at Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, where we met in the faculty room.
I currently have a part-time job at Cobleskill Regional Hospital, where I spend lots of time on the desktop in our office and supervise a dozen hospital volunteers.
My life has been better than I ever expected when I began my teaching career in 1967.
