John's Story

I am on long term disability due to being diagnosed with ALS. At the same time I am going through divorce #2. I have 3 beautiful daughters from my first marriage, Jenna 20, Jamilyn and Jillian 14 (yes twins). I am currently living in San Antonio with my oldest daughter, who is attending UTSA. The twins live in the Phoenix area with their mom. They have been back with her for 2 years now. Kind of glad they are not here for this. I have been hoping to catch up with some old friends here on classmates, but no mail has been answered from Verna H, Ron H, Gina D., and a few others. If you see them or hear from them, I hope you will pass on the info so maybe we can get in touch. My daughter says I have become a miserable old man over the last year, for which she is right. ALS is no fun to deal with, especially when you have dr¿s that keep arguing over what I have and who is right. Sounds like Bachelor Survival with the hot young teacher. I hope those that do read this will find some comfort in the fact that I was picked most likely to be drunk, but have been with IBM designing Data Centers for the last few years and an independent consultant with my own company since 1994. Guess this big boy did a lot better than anyone thought. Kind of funny and a bit sad looking back at the folks that were rude and treated me like sh?t. Karma has a way of catching up on them. I am not perfect. I have ALS so that shows how bad my Karma is. I think the best thing I did was get out of Memphis when we graduated and moved to Texas with my family. Spent 4 y...Expand for more
ears in the navy and a few years running restaurants before moving back into computers and my life took off from there. Now, I sit in a wheelchair writing blogs about the jerk in office and the party that is trying to destroy our nation and think I have been pretty lucky to have been where I have and enjoyed traveling the world. It is hard to settle down when you lived in hotels and a different city almost every week. Hong Kong was totally beautiful and the company I was working with there treated my team like kings. In London we visited a few of the sites and I went over to holyloch to visit some old friends from my Navy days. India was totally amazing as were the other places. The worst was Vietnam, Turkey and Korea. South America was fantastic in most places, but folks, don¿t get sick there. I was flown back with a med team from Brazil by my company with an unknown illness and they wanted me to wait till they had an opening a hospital and the government approved, which could be weeks. Even though I had my shots, I got some wonderful bacterial infection. That¿s the past and the future is ahead of all of us. Sorry for the negative, but since I have not heard about any of the reunions, this was the best place to say what I wanted to say. For the few that were true friends, thank you. For those that were jerks and a$$holes, well thank you too. Without you, I never would have made it as good as I have. You were my inspiration to prove wrong and to be better than I ever dreamed I could be. Keep it real and fun John (Albert) Keeton
