John's Story
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Tommy Cleaves, because I haven't seen him in 40 years and we used to ride the bus to school every day. I have looked online and haven't ever gotten a lead on his where abouts..
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is any of the girls from the class of 1969, because I have caught up with a few of the guys, but, the girls names change when married and I wouldn't have an idea for any of them. Beverly Ward, Karen Mederios Mary Beth Mello, Mary Ann Mello, Joanne Wryobleski, I know I am missing some others, come out come out where ever you are.....
To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? I would enjoy a small house as close to a sandy section of beach, listening to some cool, calm music, with anyone that would also enjoy it. No reason to have to work, but I might. Cooking outdoors at least once a day. Weather can be Warm or hot and sunny, Hot hot would be fine. Long days of sunshine.
What's the weirdest job you ev...Expand for more
er had?
I worked at a cemetary for the City of New Bedford.
My first job was at Whites of Westport, where I got paid $1.75 per hour to wash dishes/ pots and pans and bus tables.. What I remember most about it is Having to wash the Lafrances cars in the winter by hand. You had to do them all. One other tough part was sifting through 50 gallon barrels of trash for silverware that may have been dumped in error. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure I got $1.75. It may have been $1.60..
Share a childhood memory you'll never forget.
We used to pretend we were fireman,, so, Mark R. and Bobby L. and I would go to Bill Brogans woods and light small fires and run around and put them out. Well we used to almost always get them put out. Lesson learned,,,,Once the fire starts climbing the trees, its a loosing effort, stand aside and wait for the fire trucks.
When the trucks get there and the men start asking questions like 'do you know how this started?' Make sure your shoelaces are not burning when you say 'we just got here'
