John's Story
You probably remember me in high school as a geek with limited social skills.
And your impression was correct - I did have limited social skills. I've enjoyed growing up since then!
After a year at SDSM&T, I took some time off for a spiritual search, which continues to this day ...
Didn't complete my undergraduate degree until 1981 (in physics at the University of Florida). PhD in physics from Stanford in 1987.
Post doctorate in Germany (where I learned mountain climbing, folk dancing, and met my wife). Worked at NASA (19...Expand for more
89-1994). Subsequently at Boston University, and now University of North Carolina in Fayetteville where I now teach physics & astronomy, and am developing a research and educational program in renewable energy technology.
I have been married once - and remain so. Two boys, now 17 & 14.
I maintain webpages at astro.uncfsu.edu and isely.info & have an account on facebook.
