John's Story
Four years after retiring from a 25 year career with HP, I returned to the high tech sector and worked another 4 years for NetApp as an onsite engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Labs. Just couldn't stay away. Things continued to change and I then accepted an IT Operations Manager position at LLNL for a team of 23 supporting some of the fastest computers in the world. The millennials keep me on my toes.
I still own and operate a carriage company...Expand for more
in Northern California and spend a lot of time feeding, training and tending to 10 horses or maintaining the trucks and trailers.
The carriage horses easily top out around 2000 lbs each, so food is their #1 priority.
All kids are on their own and I am now a Grandpa. As graduation ceremonies occur all around I am reminded that we all graduated 40 years ago and 60 has come and gone. Where oh where did the time go? Was that a fast 40 years or what?
