John's Story
Life
Living in Revere,Ma with my family. I have 2 wonderful kids. Samantha is 15 and a hand full (payback for what I put my parents through I guess). I also have a son Zack who is 12. Both kids keep me going with sports (surprise huh). I coach both of them in Softball and baseball pretty much 12 months a year. I'm pretty involved with youth sports here in Revere. I run the little league of over 500 kids. I still manage to play competetive baseball myself all over New England and around the country. Some kids never grow up I guess. I work at Verizon and have been there since 1986 as a Plice Service Technician. Life is good when you think of the solutions to your problems intead of dwelling on the problem. My sister Kim Moore (Class of 86) and her husband Jeff Stephens (Class of 85) are still married doing well since 1988. They live in Stow in the same house Jeff grew up in. They have 2 great sons (Matthew 15 and Ryan 13). My nephew matt is a freshman this year 2007-08 at Minuteman. Pretty scary stuff !!! If anyone want's to reach me, I can be found at JMoore1967 at aol . com
I always wanted to be a Pro Athlete when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a nice idea but plan for an good education first. As it turns out, they were right damn it.
My hero was my grandfather Doug mcEwan who just passed away at age 89 in January 2008. He was a survivor of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge during World War II after being shot and wounded 11 times. He also helped my mom raise me and my sister Kim with my grandmother until my step dad came along. He was a great man.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my Mom, because there were so many things I never got to thank her for before she passed away too soon at age 61 this past February in 2008..
Sports big time but I love some of those reality shows like American Idol and the Alaskan King Crap fisherman show.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the outside with new siding and add on a deck to the top floor. My dream home would be on Cape Cod overlooking the ocean in Falmouth.
If I won $100 million, I'd give lots of it to loc...Expand for more
al youth organizations , then spend the rest on family, the kids education and a business.
My current age is 41. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and gray. I was so completely wrong.
My best friend would tell you I'm giving , but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a nice guy.
Hell no...parachute pants are dead thank god and besides, if they made them I need extra husky.
The weirdest jobs I ever had was driving strippers around Eastern Massachusetts to their "gigs". Talk about seeing some crazy stuff !!!! I also managed the biggest night club in New England for 8 years (The Palace) in Saugus,Ma and got meet some cool celebrities in my days. Also drove limo's for the rich and famous for a few years. Having been one of 5 persoanl drivers for Aerosmith was pretty cool but a demanding job. I drove Tom Hamilton by the way not Steve Tyler but met them all many times. Also have drove for Jay Z and Beyonce',No Doubt (Gwen Stefani), Tom Brady many times and lots of Patriots. Lots of other people too but the most memorable one was picking up the Royal Saudi family with their bodyguards carrying Uzi's right off the plane at Logan Airport.
I share my home with my 2 brother in law's and my mother in law who live downstairs, which I find cool but stressful sometimes.
If I had a do-over it would have to be to finish college the 1st time around. I really blew a big education and playing college hockey and baseball because I wanted to be with my girlfriend at the time back in Massachusetts. What can I say, I was drawn to the "Power of the P" if you know what I mean. HeHeHe.
In 10 years, I hope to be retired. I'm going to get there by robbing a bank or hitting the lottery ?.
My oldest friend is my bother from another mother Dan who lived in Natick,Ma. We grew up together since the diaper days since our mom's were best friends. We were both best men at each others weddings and man did we party in our 20's. Later on in life my buddy Dan would become my "sponsor" and help me get to where I am today. Clean and Sober and living life with peace and serenity thank god.
