s an Electronics Officer. I transferred to USS LABOON, another AEGIS destroyer, and served for 4 years there and was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG). From LABOON, I went to an Admiral's battle group staff on board the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT, an aircraft carrier, as the Combat Systems Installations Officer. Promoted to Lieutenant (LT). Also during this 2 year tour, the attack on the USA happened on 11SEP01 and was just 7 days before our scheduled deployment. So we were the battle group that deployed first to begin the operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan. We had no port visits since the ship was underway the entire deployment so we didn't touch the ground until we returned home. I left the staff and went next to the USS ENTERPRISE aircraft carrier for 2 years as the Communications Maintenance Officer. I left there and now serve at Navy Information Operations Command as the Electronics Department Head and will be here 3 years. I just promoted to Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) in January 06' and will transfer back to another aircraft carrier this year. It has been a very rewarding career and serving our country has been a very satisfying job. Proud to say that these 23+ years I have given to the service has been tough at times but my pleasure in knowing what we provide is so necessary for the security of us all... I believe that my reward is that the true love of my life time is back in my life to stay forever....Linda Armes. We were married in SEP 05 and life has been better than I could have ever imagined!
