John Nickell:  

John's schools include Burleson High School, Tarleton State University, Hawaii Pacific University (Business Administration), Central Michigan University (Master Degree in Business Administration), many military schools, and the Al Pinson Grapevine Farrier School. He specialized in corrective shoeing for horses with hoof problems before returning to military service. He is an FAA certified Commercial Pilot with fixed-wing and helicopter / rotorcraft ratings. His 28 year military service took him to many foreign countries such as, Germany, Italy, Japan, Greece, Turkey, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and over 3 different years in South Korea, He served 5 years in the US Air Force at Kelley AFB, TX and Yokota AFB, Japan during the Vietnam War Era in the late 1960s. The highlight of his career, and for his family, was a four year stint living in Hawaii. He is a retired US Army Chief Warrant Officer. John and his wife, LaRue, were married in 1958, and have an adult son and a daughter who resided with them in Hawaii. They have three grandsons, one granddaughter, and a granddaughter by marriage to their oldest grandson who is serving in the U.S. Army.
