John's Story
After High School I worked as an auto mechanic and a towing and recovery operator. During this time I became interested in law enforcement and in 1979 attended the Aurora Reserve Police Academy and served as a Reserve Police Officer for four years. I left the Aurora Police Reserves after starting my own Towing business in 1982 (Johns Towing). I merged in with another business in 1983 (J.M. Auto Service), and worked as the manager of the towing division until 1991. I joined the Parker Police department as a reserve Police Officer in 1987. When I left Johns Towing in 1991, I became a full time Police dispatcher for the Parker Police Department. In 1992 I became a full time Police Officer for Parker. While working as an Officer I started a second Towi...Expand for more
ng Company in 1994 (Dependable Towing) to earn extra money. I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1998, as a result sold Dependable towing a few years later. I worked for the Town of Parker as a Police Officer until I retired in 2014. I currently work part time to maintain my hobby of building classic cars and hot-rods. I am married and have three boys, ages 36, 30, and 24. We are all motor heads and into auto racing. We participate in Drag Racing to this day. I always have a few car projects in the works. I enjoy Camping and 4-wheeling in the mountains with ATV's.
Time to finally retire. In July of 2020 my wife and I moved out of Colorado to a small town in Plainville, Kansas. I now have time to expand my time on my hobbies and interests.
