John's Story
There are only three important things that you would need to know to be caught up on my life. First, I have been happily married to Tracy Rickard Pegues since 1982. Sadly, we have no children, but we have both been involved at church and at school in working with youth and that has been a wonderful calling. We live outside of Tomball, Texas and go to church in Spring, Texas.
After getting my BA and MA in history from Texas A&M I became a history teacher in Spring ISD. I have worked there since 1982 and it has been a real privilege to get a chance to mold young people. I taught three years of middle school before moving to Spring HS where I have been since 1985. I am currently the department chair for gifted and talented programs. I am also team leader for...Expand for more
US History and have been department chair for social studies off and on when I am not developing AP courses or working on the building master schedule. In addition to my high school experiences, I have taught off and on for 15+ years at Lone Star College.
My wife, Tracy is responsible for my move from the Methodist Church to the Episcopal Church and from there most of our congregation moved to the Anglican Communion in North America - ACNA where we still reside today. As a lay person I was responsible for the discernment process that lead us to move and then I was blessed to go to seminary and be ordained as a deacon. I am currently head of adult education and have the privilege of being a deacon at St. Timothy's Anglican Church on Louetta Road in Spring.
