John Perkins:  

Life I was out of school, during and before most of you, as you may or may not already know. I was administered and passed the CA Proficiency exam in 77, at the same time I was in Dr. Beverly DeAngelo's Pride House in Van Nuys; I attended LAVC. Not completing my education, like a fool. I started into the work force. Santa Monica's Supply Sergeant, and Pacoima’s Viking Freight. I quit after a traumatic blow to the head, and moved to Nebraska '79' After arriving in My 71 383 Road Runner with an average driving speed of 90 mph, it took me a month. I made a lot of stops! In Lincoln NE, I began making new friends and fell in Love for the 1st time with Lisa Oeping, a beautiful German girl, who Worked at The Kawasaki Plant, where I was a security guard, for Wells Fargo! Well Lisa broke my heart, and the Guard Service lost their contract. So I started washing dishes in my Uncle's Restaurant. Being the only one who talked back to the Restaurateur my days there were numbered. My RR had been driven into the ground; I picked up a P.U. truck and headed back to the Golden State. Back in CA '80' I washed dishes and was promoted to cook at the Crystal Bay, NV Nevada Lodge, Located on Lake Tahoe's North Shore. I lived across the border in Kings Beach, CA. Well Wayne the Waiter got in my face 1 morning and I had to punch him in his face. Time to find a new place! Hitchhiking (My cousin would be driving my truck down a week later.) west and south to Visalia where the Shandra's had moved. Mark and I hung out (Mark Shandra, later died from complications related to his heart transplant.) I hopped on board the Greyhound for the remainder of the trip. Between the stress from my broken heart and the elevation changes from Bakersfield to L.A.
