John's Story
Life
My Kids
I was a late bloomer and become a Dad at 41 and not 31. I have an adoreable (most of the time)
12yo son. He is bright, handsome and usually warms the ladies hearts. I am truly blessed even though he is the only child I am likely to have. So far he is doing well in school, at least much better than I ever did. John will start attending St Johns Country Day School for the 6th grade in Aug 04. I hope that as
he gets older and smarter, he doesn't think I am getting older and stupider. Being a Dad is one of the most satisfying things I have ever done. We are all over the big 50, myself included. Never-the-less, I would consider having more kids in the right circumatances. I have been married to Lorraine, a cancer
nurse, since Mar 02. She is a
loving and giving person who
successfully treated my father
for prostate cancer. She is the most intelligent woman I have
ever been with. It mak...Expand for more

wonder why she decided to marry
me.
My Job
I am a Captain for Northwest Airlines. I have been here for 17 years. For 13 years of those 17
years, I flew the Boeing 747 and the DC-10 to the Pacific Rim, Europe, the Mid East and India. I wanted to be an airline pilot since I was in the 11th grade. It provides me with a very
comfortable living and LOTS of time off. When I am off, I don't carry a pager.
Military
I went to pilot training in the USAF right after graduating from
Florida State University. Going
to pilot training was the only reason I went to college. In the 60s and 70s, it was pretty dificult to get a job
as a pilot for a major US airline if you had not been a pilot in
the military. That is not so today. After 6 years in the USAF, I got out and came back to JAX
and joined the Florida Air
National Guard. I retired in
Jun 95 after 22 years of comissioned service as a Lt Col.
