John's Story
Life
I attended F.D.U. for one year before deciding that I would rather work on cars for a living. I graduated from Lincoln Tech. in Union, NJ and after working in the automotive business for 12 years,(10 at Hawthorne Chevrolet), I moved to Spring Hill, Florida in 1988. I started two small businesses and ran them for three years. The 1st Gulf war started, retail sales slumped substantially and I decided to get back into cars in 1991. I did well working at a Chevrolet/Pontiac/Oldsmobile dealer for 8 years until Oldsmobile folded and work now as a Toyota Master Tech.
As a side line, I was a singer and played keyboards in a nine piece band in the late '70s (mostly light jazz and Chicago type rock). I met and married the cousin of a band member in 1981. Sue and I are still going strong (28 years as of 9-5-09) and have two great kids: Michael,16 and Lisa,13. For those of you that were the class of 1970 at St. John's School, and remember my mother from St. John's, (she worked in the principal's office) she is still going strong at 91 and lives down here in Florida. I hope that all are well and have great lives. Contact me if you want to and let me know how things turned out for you. I'm on Facebook also. Hope to see ya'll later, John

New update: I retired from Toyota after an injury in 2022. 45 years working on cars/trucks was enough for me. Still married to the same wonderful woman (43 years and counting) My son is now a deputy sheriff (30) and my daughter (27) is a CPA. Both are happily married. I have one grandson so far (Elliot) and hoping for more. My wife and my son's wife are both cancer survivors. Thank God! I'm still living in Spring Hill, FL. I do miss the old home town, although it has changed a lot. I try to keep in tough with old friends as much as possible and visit friends and relatives in NJ as often as I can. Trying to keep healthy, enjoying semi-retirement and I hope to hear from some of you soon...
