That's where you'll find me... Along with lovers, muggers and thieves. But I love that dirty water... Boston you're my home! I'm 52. My wife Heather and I have been married for 28 years and have two (adult) children; a daughter 25 and a son 22. Heather works at a local hospital. Our daughter works as a CNA in Weymouth. She went to nursing school out in Nanaimo, BC for a while, but got homesick and returned. She plays rugby and softball and has a pretty good time doing it. Our son is a Senior at UMass-Boston and is studying Nutritional Science, but contemplating Medical School in order to study Endocrinology. He plays piano, runs Marathons and does other stuff like that. We also have two Shih-tzus to run the house and schedule things for us. Heather, who is half Acadian French, was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada and came to Boston in 1964. She and I attended the same High School for two years but didn't know each other then (with 2500 students, it's no surprise). We met at a mutual friend's house in 1981. Her parents retired in 1999 and moved back to Prince Edward Island, where her father is from originally. Her family's been fishing and lobstering there for over 200 years, and were among the first Acadian settlers on the island. PEI, in case you haven't been there, is one of the most beautiful places on Earth in my opinion. I'm a Mass. State Licensed Operating Engineer and have worked a...Expand for more
t a small, highly efficient co-generation power plant in Cambridge, MA for 30 years. I've taken a variety of college courses at a variety of schools and probably have enough credits for a degree, but have never matriculated; one of these days. I need to get back to the gym and lose some weight (who doesn't?) but am, overall, very happy with myself, with a wonderful, beautiful wife, and with life in general. My mother's a native Texan. Dad was from East Cambridge, MA. They met in 1943 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX when Dad came back from Guadalcanal, and were married at the West Somerville Baptist Church in September 1944. We lost Dad in February 2008, but still have Mom, who lives in the same house with us. I also lost my older sister, Lana, in 1991--a victim of homicide. She'd been in an abusive relationship for many years and we were never able to get her out of it. She was far and away the most spiritual, intellectual and best looking of the three of us and I attribute every good thing that's happened to me to her spiritual oversight--she is absolutely my guardian angel. She left three beautiful and brilliant children and was deprived, among other things, of seeing her youngest daughter graduate 3rd in her class at Regis College by just 5 months. My older brother Mark lives in Connecticut and is a professional air traffic controller (and, I might add, the best in the business!). He and his wife have two sons, the younger of which recently received his BSME from Roger Williams College. Mark is a firearms expert (and an expert in numerous other disciplines as well) and also fishes and hunts and does all the other outdoors-ie stuff that I don't do. Unlike me, he's handsome, neat and thin! I have a number of hobbies and other interests; chief among them is railroad history but love all transportation-related subjects. In addition, I enjoy aviation history--both civil and military as well as maritime and naval history. I've been involved with editing and publishing, and also enjoy astrophysics, astronomy, geology, cartography and similar pursuits. I like baseball, and have coached a Little League team here locally for 16 years and been blessed with great kids and great parents. I also enjoy football, and partner with my nephew on New England Patriots season tickets.".
