John's Story
Life
I married someone I met at NMSU and we had two great children, but we divorced. A year or so later I married a lovely lady from Manchester, England (Dot), and we raised my first two kids and had two more of our own. We'll have been together 20 years in 2007.
School
My best memories involve trying to conduct myself with complete propriety and earn the 4.5 GPA I so richly deserved, only to be constantly distracted by Kermit Shumard and to fail miserably on both fronts. whelmed by his charm and wit and led down a sinister road. That and the good times with my basketball mates.
College
I graduated from NMSU with a marketing degree in 1979.
Workplace
I stayed in Las Cruces until 1979, and took a job with AT&T. I worked in Roswell for a year, then Albuquerque for a year, then Santa Fe for a year. After moving to Santa Fe in 1982, I bought a property management/timeshare business from my college advisor and changed it to a hotel business. I have been in Santa Fe and working in that field (and for myself) ever since.
