John's Story

After high school I went to Cal Poly Pomona. I left school and went to work Morrison-Knudsen, and soon found myself in North Dakota in the middle of winter. the next fall I returned to school with much inproved study habits. I graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering. I continued Working for Morrison- Knudsen as an heavy construction and surface mining estimator for most of my career. We parted company when the only postion that had available was on the 91th floor of the Twin Towers building in New York City. (I missed that bullet) In 1970 I had a bout with cancer, and had ...Expand for more
to have my left leg amputated, other than a bad scar I have not had any after effects. In 1976 I married my wife Leslie, (we just finished 32 years and are still in love) we have four children, but our twins died at birth. My first daughter is living in North Carolina, and my son is living in Long Beach. I have been able to travel some and have been to Europe, North Africa, South America, and Japan. I am retired and we live in Eastern Oregon. I have had a wonderful happy life filled with many great adventures, and look forward to many more. I hope to see you in 2010,
