John's Story
Life
From graduation, I went on to the University of Akron and graduated in 1981. After graduation I took a job with DuPont, for whom I still work for today. My first job was in Victoria, TX for a few years and then I transferred to Aiken, SC. In 1983, I married Vicky Mattson who is also from our class. We started dating on Âsenior flick dayÂ, one week before we finished high school, and remain happily married 20+ years later. With all the moves, we have enjoyed each location more than the one before. Recently, I went to back to school for a graduate degree full-time at the University of North Carolina (weekend program) in 2002 and took 54 credit hours in 18 months while still working. It was truly one of the most rewarding things IÂve done in life and I intend to take about 2 elective classes/year at UNC for the rest of my life.
Vicky and I really enjoyed on 10 and 20-year reunions, and very much look to the 30-year reunion in 2007.
