Workplace
After retiring after 22 years from the Navy in 1977 I worked for Connecticutt Mutual Life Ins. for 3 years but tired of the constant selling hazzle so went into hotel management until 1986 when I relocated from Hawaii to San Diego. I then went into Contract Management managing the housekeeping, engineering, security, communications and various other departments in hospitals and orginizatioons. Managed the facilities Dept of Dodger Stadium for 2 years (1991-1992) and after various assignments in Chicago, LA, Oakland, central California, Sacramento and Las Vegas I retired on a disability in 2000.
Military
Enlisted in Navy in October 1956. After boot camp in San Diego I was assignd to Uss Taluga AO62 which was homeported in Long Beach, California. Transferred from Taluga to Commander Service Squadron 3 in Sasebo, Japan in July 1959 and served there until end of enlistment in October 1960. assigned to a new tour of duty in Yokosuka, Japan. St Paul returned to San Diego in 1962 abnd I was transferred to Commander Destroyer Division 72 staff as the staff signalman. Served on staff until October 1963 when I was transferred to Great Lakes, Illinois for duty as an instructor and company commader. After 4 years at Great Lakes I was transferred to USS Sampson DDG10 at Charleston, SC and made 3 med cruises. In July 1970 I was transferred to commissioning crew of USS Morton DD948 and assigned to Pearl Harbor Hawaii (made 2 VieNam combat cruises). In Sept 1972 I was transferred to Recruiting Duty in Hawaii and shortly after being promoted to Senior Chief Navy Counselor, I was promtoted to Pacific Zone Supervsior for Navy Recruiting (covering Hawaii, Guam, Korea, Taiwan, Okinawa and the Phillipines). Retired October 29, 1977 after 22 years of active duty.
Retired in Las Vegas Nevada (with a muscle disease) trying to beat the slots.
