This is being briefly updated in October of 2008. I am now 61, about to turn 62 (Halloween). I am now 44 yrs out of High School and, 30 yrs out of graduate school where I received my MSW. I have worked mostly in the Los Angeles area as a professional Social Worker for the past 30 yrs. I have enjoyed my career for the most part. 17 of those years were spent in direct service (with people) and, then 10 in administrative work. For the past 2 yrs, I have been back to working with people directly in a therapeutic capacity and, this past year has been one of the most enjoyable of my professional life. Why I allowed myself to get into administrative work talking on the phone and filling out forms just to save a job, I don't know. Over the years, I have been married two times and, can attest to the fact that it only looks greener on the other side of the fence. Acceptance and hard work, along with the absence of a thin skin make most work. I waited until my 40's to have a child but, she is a winner. Very bright & communicative and, a "willful woman."
