John's Story
After High School I attended Chaffey Jr. College and received an AA degree in Electronics.
After Chaffey I was drafted and spent 2 years in the Army. I was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisana for my entire tour. I was in the 60th Army band. I was married right after basic training.
I spent a short time at Kaiser Steel the summer before I was drafted and when I was discharged. I was hired by IBM in March of 1968 and moved to Santa Monica. In 1970 I transferred...Expand for more
with IBM to San Jose, CA. I retired from IBM in 2006 as an Advisory Engineer.
I was divorced and have since remarried. I have 2 biological children and 3 step-children. I have 4 grandchildren thanks to 2 of my step-children.
Since retiring it seems that I'm busier than I was while I was working. My wife and I belong to a Corvette club and spend a lot of time with car activities. This summer we're dong car shows so a lot of time is spent detailing the car.
