John's Story
Life
Following graduation from Fredonia State, I got married in '81 and settled in western NY, where we raised our daughter, Meredith (22, grad student at FL State)and son, Andy (19, 2nd year junior at Nazareth College). While it is a very nice rural area and a great place to raise a family, it did take some getting used to - definite Appalachia (some residents feel the national anthem is "Dueling Banjos"....) I taught elementary school for 17 years and have been an elementary principal (I know - that's a scary thought) since 1998. be so full and happy. Yet, as we dread part of the change, we both are also looking forward to the reported "benefits" of being alone together again - although our recent acquisition of two labrador retrievers has put a crimp in the "freedom" normally found as the kids depart.... Looking back over my high school years, I realize the many mistakes I made, (and also realize there's bound to be many more of which I'm not even aware). So, to all you good Wallkill alumni, thanks to those who were such good friends to me in spite of all my faults, and my sincere apologies to any that I offended in any way. I hope you all are happy and healthy.
