John's Story
Life
After high school, I went to work as a fingerprint specialist for the FBI, but soon returned to Texas to attend the University of Texas at Austin. I left UT and graduated from North Texas State University, where I kept going until I received a doctorate. I taught high school for three years at David Carter High School, and then I was a Dallas Police Officer (13 years) when I was awarded the doctorate. I left the DPD and worked for a short time at EDS in Plano, then left that position for New York. Both of my parents had died and my sister, Patricia, lived in Rochester. I spent three years there and then traveled to a warmer climate in New Jersey, where I currently teach in the psychology program at Stockton University, in Atlantic City. e psychologist-representative to the Atlantic County Hostage Negotiation Team. I have published a few articles on sex offenders and police psychology, as well as the neuropsychological aspects of sexual offenders. I also consult with local police departments on serial rapes and sexual homicides. I wrote and published a book entitled, "In Pursuit of a Serial Killer: The Archetype Killer" that was published in 2015. I contributed material for the TV show "Criminal Minds" and was the technical advisor to the documentary series "Killer Profile."
Personally, I have a wonderful son who is in to digital media. Even though his mother and I divorced, Corey has always lived with me and he has been a real joy to raise.
I played in the Rebel Band when in high school, and I have always kept up with music. Some day, I hope to write a broadway musical. Who knows.
