John's Story
Life
Currently running two businesses, a coffee shop and a coffee roasting operation. Married, second time around with two Basenji dogs that are our children.
Still hiking and traveling as much as possible. Shooting to retire at 55 but that is a long way off. We'll see!
Well, 55 is closer now and that is still my target retirement date. We just bought a lake front lot on Lake Eufaula and are designing our retirement home. We hope to start construction next spring.
I've been very lucky to have Trip Tomlinson and Steve Atha as my best friends for all these years and still take a week backpacking trip with them each year....Expand for more
Last year we went to the Wind River Range in Wyoming. Glacier Peak Wilderness in Washington State the year before. This year we're looking at going back to one of our favorites, Mt. Rainier in Washington. Many, many great memories hiking on that beautiful mountain!
Still bicycle a good bit but not as much as I would like. I took up kayaking a while back and try to get out for a day of exploration once a week. I have two touring kayaks, a 17' single and an 18.5' tandem so Gail can join me.
Life is short, friends are dear and laughter is necessary. I have been very lucky and hope to continue that streak as long as possible.
