John's Story
Life
I left my Dad and Step-Mom's house and Drewry Mason High in Martinsville, VA and went to my Mom's and Step-Dad's in Terre Haute, IN and into the Army.
I spent most of my life in the military, on Active Duty, in the National Guard or Army Reserves. I also served in the trades and had my own Consulting and Contracting Company.
I've been a Veterans Advocate and Activist since returning from Vietnam in 1972 and I'm currently a writer on Political, Military and Veterans Issues in Las Vegas, NV.
Military
I went into the Army in the Fall of 1971, and went through Basic Combat Training at Ft. Campbell, KY, then onto Advanced Infantry Training at Ft. Jackson, SC - then, to Vietnam in Feb '72, where I served with the First Cavalry Division.
