John's Story
Since HS, went to LBCC and then Cal State Long Beach, Majoring in Journalism. One week after graduation, went ot work at Cycle News, a weekly motorcycle paper and worked up to managing editor...left after 3 years to freelance as writer, photographer and race announcer and have done that since '73 at most of the racing venues in SoCal. Took up commercial and residential painting for additional income in 1982 and still do that occasionally. Eight years ago began installing wrestling mats in HS/Colleges throughout Calif and did that until the state went broke at the end of '08. Now, just write and announce races. her 2nd) in 1988 and no kids, though she has 8 and I've kinda inherited most of them off and on (currently two live with me). Left LB in 1994, moved to Bakersfield for a year, then to Riverside in '96, where we now live with my mother, 88, who suffers from alhzeimers, so it's pretty much 24/7 to have one of us here. In good health and have our own home, so we are at least comfortable.
