John's Story

Life I was born in the cold wee hours of March 26th, 1971 and immediately began crying. I cried for one year. I stopped crying and managed to get on with school, work, etc. The last time I cried was maybe 1992, when I bought a two-dollar cassette of a Bulgarian Women's Choir at a gas station in Connecticut. If you come across it, I would highly recommend buying it. That was the best two dollars I ever spent. On the same day I bought a Hank Williams Sr. Greatest Hits Collection. For those of you unfamiliar with his music, let me say only that much of it express a deep longing to return "home". I can't say I really relate to those sentiments, but he sure has a lovely voice. t already done so. Since 1998 I've been living in South Korea. It hasn't killed me yet. Many things happened between buying the cassettes and coming to Korea, but this box is too small and it's time for my nap. School I spent my early school career trying to show everyone how smart I was. Soon, everyone was saying, "Wow, he's so smart." I found that I didn't much like flattery, so I spent my high school years trying to show everyone how stupid I was. It took a few more years before I stopped caring what other people thought. In university, I studied history - "utterly fascinating but not entirely practical," which, with any luck, will be my epitaph. College Yes, I went to college. Nice place.
