John's Story
I joined the Navy after Byrd and made it a 20 yr career spending some time on a couple of ships in the Mediterranean and about ten + years overseas in a couple of embassies in Asia working in the intelligence field. I finally retired after 20 yrs in the DC area and into civil service for another 16 years in the security and intelligence field based out of the Pentagon. second time in 2003 (or so I thought) and moved to the Midwest. After about 2 years retirement I decided to go back to work for a major telecommunications company as a physical security manager - retired for a 3rd (and final time) in June 2014 and now volunteering in the community with our local hospital, school district and police department. I firmly believe that these days you can't let grass grow beneath your feet - stay active.
