John's Story
Life
I am currently Vice President/Global Sports Mktg Director for Running/Track and Field at NIKE. I have been here for twenty years. I basically travel the World signing T+F athletes and events for NIKE. I was in College Coaching(12yrs)before that as the Head Men's and Women's Track Coach at Kansas State for seven yrs and as an asst Coach at a few places before that. Prior to that I attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo Ca. on a Track Scholarship.
I met my wife Hester van den Breemer in The Netherlands when I worked as the European Running Mgr for NIKE in 1997-98. We have three boys, Luca(9yrs) and Giacomo (7 years) and Caio (3 years). We live in Portland Oregon. I still like ...Expand for more
to run (3-5 days a week) and lift weights. I bought an old mill house in Tuscany, Italy built in 1600. We are in Chianti, four miles from the mediaeval town of Siena and 45min south of Florence. We are able to get there 2-3 times a year and someday I will retire there. I like spending time with my two boys, making it harder for me to travel on my job. I do have a hobby of collecting Red Wine. I have a nice Cellar at home. My favorite wines are the 'Big Reds' from Napa Valley, Tuscany, Italy and Bordeaux, France.
