John's Story

5-24-14. I am no longer a member of classmates. Very few connected. I can be reached by jchatt at msn if anyone wants to connect. See ya. 10-2-13 I was really looking forward to connecting with some old friends. I don't know what the deal is but I get these stupid emails from "Classmates" telling me how popular I am and all these people signed my guest book. So I follow the link and someone I do not know has looked at my profile? I am sure that since I am updating this now, it will generate massive emails to people that don't know me saying what? I don't get it. If you visit my page, say something like Hi or whatever.... The email I received today said "Man oh man are you popular in 2013, John!" I get similar emails all the time. So hello to all you people I don't know that just received an email ‏letting you know I made some big profile updates. 8-23-13. I met a few old friends. I feel good about that. Can't believe I am going to be 60 this year. Where did all the time go? I have been glad to hear from some of you. Thanks for taking the time. I would really like to take a trip back to Edison one of these days. 10-14-12. If asked I would not recommend this site. What a rip off it is. Hard to use, or maybe just hard to figure out. I wish I would have just joined the 30 days. You get these notices that someone was looking for you, and you sign in and there is nothing. I haven't been back to Edison since I left for the military. Don't feel missed or that I missed anything. But a military career sort of takes away, that feeling you have a home, to go back to. I guess I am just getting old and was hoping this site was something it is not. I spent 27 years in the Air Force. After retirement, I became a headhunter, then moved on to building log homes in the mountains, and now I am a firearm Instructor. 6-10-12. I must have joined this thing much too late. Everything is old news and the site is not in any way user friendly. I left Edison 40 years ago. Thought this would be a way to re-connect and have found 3 people so far. So I guess that is worth it. But man this place is like a cemetery. Dead, dead, dead! 5-20-12 Update. As I tried to post this I was informed "no profanity so I had to remove many words" I still don't know how to use this website. I am no web page developer but this site makes little sense to me. I wonder what they pay in advertising, I bet it is a bunch.I paid for a 2 year membership and think maybe I went too far. So if anyone has it figured out let me know. High School. Man I just don't remember much about it. I do remember I couldn't stand it. I remember I got thru it by the skin of my teeth. I never did home work. I actually didn't give a damn about school. I do know that people like Bell, remember that donkey? Well he made me want to quit school and pretty much ...Expand for more
told me my options were going into the army. So I wish he were alive today so I could tell him, hey asshole, I ended up with a master's degree in spite of your lack of encouragement. They had me convinced college was never to be in my future. Granted it took me 12 years of night school. But it all worked out the way it was supposed to I guess. I have found a couple of high school friends and I guess I didn't have many. My memory of those years is cloudy but I didn't do drugs so it must be the years and the miles. I heard a few horror stories over the years about this guy committing suicide, that one going to jail, but this was the time before the new great invention, the computer. So I have no idea. I tried looking up an old girl friend once and she thought I was some sort of stalker. Really? Don't flatter yourself. There are several people I wonder about and would like to catch up with.I guess the popular people are still popular. But nothing seems to be as it seems. I think it would suck to be so popular in high school only to end up a nobody when you grew up. If we were friends I'd like to re-connect and like I said, I haven't found this site to easy to go thru. I left NJ to join the military and never went back. One day maybe. But I have no family there. And would not know where to go. I grew up is Iselin and I hear that is now called Islam. I moved to Edison in 7th grade and heard the demographics there have also changed a lot. For those of you that knew me, you may remember things in my home were always tense. And I actually got kicked out of my house several months before joining the military. There was one girl that showed me great kindness back when I was told to leave home and get the hell out and I wish I could find her. Her name was Donna Halkovich. Anyone know where she is today? Wow. I finally broke down and paid for access to this site. Not many of my classmates are members, as I was led to believe. So this membership will most likely not be re-newed. They hassled the crap out of me for years so I finally figured I better see what was going on, since they made it seem like all my old classmates were here. Right, persistent marketing.. I can be contacted at jchatt at msn com or here I guess. Though I don't see signing back on here much based on what I've seen after buying the membership.. After graduating from High School in 1971, I went into the military. I guess that's what I was supposed to do since I ended up staying in for 27 years. Retired in 99 became a Headhunter for several years. Then I retired again and sort of drifted around until I found myself in the Blue Ridge Mountains in western NC. I found a place to finally call home and built a log home in the mountains. I am now retired and work part time as a firearms Instructor teaching people self defense..
